I'm on line reading an article and in the middle of a paragraph and suddenly the page jumps to the bottom of the screen to an advertisement.

First run the troubleshooter for the mouse from the control panel. Next Windows 10 settings has the ability to change the amount of lines your mouse will scroll. If that doesn't help try going to device mgr. And removing and reinstalling your mous.

I try to scroll back up to where I was reading and BAM! It does it again.slams me back to the bottom of the screen to the advertisement. I then try to scroll back up to the article and where I left off and maybe read another sentence or two and BAM it does it again.

Sometimes this happens five or six times during the time I'm trying to read an article. It's as if someone or some power is taking command of my screen and slamming me to the bottom of the page to an advertisement. Is anyone having the same experience.why is this doing this.and how can I fix it???It's driving me crazy.Harkcomp.

Harkcomp,It is driving me nuts too. But for me, it has nothing to do with ads the page just jumps around.I had thought the issue was either the ad block I use or the continuous loop of installation failures of update. Are you using Edge? I am using IE.FPI don't think it necessarily has anything to do with a particular advertisement. I have Windows 10. In order to go on line I click on Edge and then do a search for Ixquick.com in order to avoid the Edge snooping and then search through Ixquick to go read my emails and online news and participate in blog conversations. It is here that I run into this page jumping problem. On Windows 10 is there a way to access the internet without going through Edge?

I'm still very new to Windows 10. I use Ixquick because it does not do any tracking of activity or collect any personal info for M.S. Harkcomp,It is driving me nuts too. To use. There may be an easier way to do it but I accessed the internet through Edge then went to my preferred home page, then Tools (Gear symbol upper right), internet options and set it as my home page. I then went to 'File Explorer; This PC; Local Disk C; Program Files; Internet Explorer; found iexplore.exe; right click, create shortcut' and placed the IE shortcut on my desktop so that I can skip Edge and go directly to IE. I'm presently using Webroot as my PC protection. Shouldn't that catch any malware that might come through?Hitman pro is superior and something else.

It detects unknown infections due to behaviour analysis. It can be used as your only virus scanner with a manual scheduled scan once a day so you don't need a virus killer running so faster PC.

Due to its sophistication it will find malware no other anti malware will find and remove it. Just use unregistered trial and run scan to find.Guaranteed nothing will find anything more than Hitman Pro. If Hitman Pro won't find nothing else will. There is also Hitman Pro alert so get both.Other good anti malware are Emmisoft Anti Malware and Malware Bytes.Page moving could be the tip of the iceberg and other possible bad are going on. Once free of infection then you can use AdguardAlso look at what addons you are running in the browsers and check there is no proxy redirection in the browser settings.Edited by markreflex, 16 September 2015 - 12:22 PM.

I am having a problem scrolling through folders and photos. I scroll down to see the files at the bottom of the page and before I even get there, the pictures jump back to the top of the page. I can't get to the bottom pictures in a folder with 600 photos. It's almost as if the page is reloading as i scroll down. Please can someone tell me how to fix this. I am seriously considering going back to windows 8 I never had this sort of problem there. If there isn't a fix for this then please tell me how to go back to windows 8. Kris, you have a background slide show, don't you?

Scroll

Go to Settings, Personalisation, Background, then change from 'slide show' to 'picture'. This will solve the problem and enable you to rename too. There's a glitch, and every time the background picture changes the glitch happens. Windows 10 will only allow the background slide show change its picture every one minute minimum (instead of every 6 seconds with Windows 8.1) so you can still have a slide show on if you want, once you have reset it, but if you do the glitch will still happen once a minute.See the thread I started which was solved when Rob noticed the glitch coinciding with the background slide show. HOPE THIS HELPS! Kris, you have a background slide show, don't you?
