My pc recently upgraded to the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update vn 1703 OS 15063.726I use an LG widescreen monitor on a Display Port connection with Intel(R) Display Audio. My system is set to put the monitor to sleep after 20 minutes of non use. Whenever I wake the monitor up, I have no sound. The monitor no longer shows up as a sound device. If I power the monitor off and then back on, the monitor returns as a sound deviceand everything is normal. Until the monitor goes to sleep again and then the problem returns. The system has been rebooted and all drivers are listed as the latest and up to date.Everything worked fine before the update.Any ideas? Thanks.Moved from Windows / Windows 10 / Windows update, recovery, & backup. Hello,That didn't help.
I don't use a speaker or headphone, and the audio troubleshooter doesn't recognize my display-port audio when it's working.I can disable the realtek device, speaker, headphone jack, etc., and still get audio through the display-port. All I get from the audio troubleshooter is to re-enable the those devices. When the sound (and display port audio device) is missing, the system tells me to save changes and reboot.
I do get audio after the reboot, but once the monitor goes to sleep, sound and device are gone again and I'm back to square one.sfc/scannow: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.I am certain if I uninstall the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update my sound problem will be fixed. I did this the first time it was installed and it fixed the problem. The fact that the Audio Troubleshooter does not recognize the functioning Display-Port Audio seems to point to a deeper problem. Rather hard for it to fix the problem if it doesn't know it's there to begin with.Thanks.
